5 Day Kayak Tour

 

Arrive at Pangai, Ha'apai Airport and be met by a Tour guide and transfer to Fifita's Guesthouse for a one-night stay. We meet with other Camping Tour people over a welcome dinner at Mariners Cafe.

 

Day 1 - To Uoleva - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

 

We head out in our Kayaks for the 2 hour trip to the island of Uoleva, (4.5 miles - 7.2 km) where we are met by the happiest group of Tongan people you will ever meet. We stay in Fale accommodation at Dianna's and enjoy their Tongan style food for dinner.

 

Day 2 -Luangahu / 'Uiha - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

 

It's into the kayaks for a chance to explore a great little bit of paradise called Luangahu Island, (4.1 miles,-6.6 km - 1.5 hours). We head across the Ava Auhanga Mea pass to the north side of Luangahu Island to a great sandy beach, for a cheese and cracker lunch. This is a great little island - you will love it, we then turn south for our over night destination, the village of Felemea on the island of 'Uhia and our guest house Esi-o-Mafu. (4.3 miles -6.9 kgs, 2 hours.)

 

Day 3 - 'Uiha - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

 

We take a kayak day trip south to the sand cays and explore the extensive reef system here. Dinner at Esi-o-Mafu guest house.

 

Day 4 Uoleva - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

 

The whole area of the Ha'apai islands is a haven for Humpback whales from July to September, and you will have an encounter !!!. There's is a long voyage up from Antarctica to give birth and mate. It is an amazing sight to be amongst these gentle giants of the sea. The Uoleva area is a popular spot for these gentle giants and it will make your holiday to have an encounter with them here. A visit is also made to a 300 year old pigeon mound on the southern end of Uoleva Back. At Dianna's we dine again on their tongan fare and spend the night in the cozy tongan fale. (4.9 miles -7.8 km, 2.2 hours)

 

Day 5 - Pangai - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

 

This is our last open water passage, back to the familiar island of Lifuka, where we started from. We spend the last night here at Fifita's friendly Guesthouse. Time to unwind, have a hot shower and enjoy the last night with your new found friends with ample food at Mariners Café. (4.5 miles -7.2 km, 2 hours.)
